Dear B-U Bandsmen: Enclosed is a tentative schedule for fall 2001. You will notice several more playing dates: we will be a working band. Please clear your schedules so that you can attend our performance dates. Music should be ready in folders by the last week of June. I will be in the band room Tuesday and Thursday, June 26 and 28 in the mornings. If your instrument is still here, come get it, too! Again this fall, the band will be selling cheese and sausage (September) and citrus (November). Both of these fund-raisers generate sizable profits for the school-band-account, so we'll want to have good results (again!) from these sales. Boosters are heading several moneymaking efforts too. The most labor-intensive (that means people to WORK) job we have is the series of WVU-concession work on several Saturdays. This can be long and tough duty, but consider it a part of out "paying dues." More info will follow. I am anticipating a year of hard work and rewarding performances. You have exhibited a commitment to this organization that is commendable and productive. Seniors, you are the leaders this year; underclassmen, observe and be ready to fix what doesn't work when it's your turn. We are a team, whether on the street or in a concert, and our common goal is to polish the high standards this band has maintained for over a half a century. Summer Band (Attendance will be taken)
Caravan, Blue Bossa, and Night in Tunisia MUST BE MEMORIZED!
